The ancient and time-honored technique of felting creates fabric directly from wool fibers – no intermediary steps of spinning or weaving needed! Fibers are laid out, wetted, and then rubbed and scrubbed, causing the fibers to bond to each other. Perfect for slippers and clogs, and for items as large as a Mongolian yurt, felting can also be made lightweight and airy with the addition of silk fabric, as in nuno felting, delightful in scarves, stoles, and garments.
