Little Crocheted Teddy Bear

Finished size: 4” tall
Materials: Small amount brown worsted weight yarn or desired color for bear, small amount black for eyes, mouth, and nose. Small amount of stuffing, tapestry needle, size F crochet hook, and size G crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. (which isn’t really important since the teddy bear can be any size you want, I made a tiny one out of crochet cotton. )
Gauge with larger hook: 3 sc=1”; 3 sc rows = 1”
Note: Work in continuous rounds, do not join or turn unless otherwise stated. Mark first stitch of each round as you work if it helps you find the beginning of each round.
Head and Body
Rnd 1: Starting at top of head, with brown ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sts)
Rnds 3-4: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 5: Sc 2tog around ( 6 sts)
Rnd 6: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)
Rnd 7: * Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around. (16 sts)
Rnd 8-11: Sc in each st around; stuff head and body
Rnd 12: Fold rnd 11 in half with wrong sides together, ch 1, working through both thickness, sc in each st across, do not finish off (8 sts)
Leg
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in front loops of first 4 sts. Turn, sc in back loops of same sts. Do not join. ( 8 sts)
Rnd 2-5: Sc in each st around. Stuff leg.
Rnd 6: * Sc first st, sl st in next st* repeat from * to * around. Finish off and pull end into leg
Next leg
Join and repeat as for first leg on remaining 4 sts of joining rnd on body
Arm (make 2)
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch form hook.
Rnd 2: Sc in back loops of each st around
Rnd 3-5: Sc in each st around. Stuff
Rnd 6: Ch 1, fold rnd 5 in half with wrong sides together and working through both thickness, sc in each st across ( 3 sts) Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Ears (make 2)
Row 1: Ch 2, 3 sc and slip stitch in second chain from hook
Row 2: Ch1, skipping sl st, 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in last st, sl st in beginning of row 1, finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Nose (use size F hook)
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook
Rnd 2: * Sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next st*, repeat from * to * ( 9 sts) finish off leaving a long tail from sewing
Tail
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook
Rnd 2: *Sc in first st, sc next 2 together* repeat from * to * twice, finish off and leave a long tail for sewing
Finishing
Sew arms to body on sides, Sew nose to face and ears to top of head. Sew tail to seat. Use black yarn to embroider eyes, nose and smile on face. Be creative! The face gives the bear it’s personality!
